Customer terms

Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when Wiznet provides broadband and related services to you.

Wiznet Media & Telecommunications Limited
Registered in Ireland ยท Company No. 822579
Cloonshanbally, Ballymote, Co Sligo

These Terms & Conditions form part of the agreement between Wiznet Media & Telecommunications Limited ("Wiznet", "we", "us" or "our") and the person or organisation ordering or using our broadband or related services ("you" or "the Customer"). They should be read together with your order, package details, pricing, installation information and any service-specific terms supplied to you.

Important: Package prices, minimum contract periods, installation charges and any promotional terms are the ones confirmed to you when you order. If a specific written order or service agreement conflicts with these general terms, the specific written terms will take priority for that service.

1. Our services

Wiznet provides broadband connectivity and related services, including fibre broadband and fixed wireless broadband. Fibre services may be delivered using third-party wholesale network infrastructure. Our own high-speed wireless network is available in selected areas, including parts of Sligo, Mayo and Leitrim.

Service availability is subject to technical checks, network availability, address qualification, line-of-sight or signal conditions where relevant, safe installation access and any third-party network requirements. An address shown as potentially serviceable does not guarantee that installation will be technically possible.

2. Starting your service

Your service normally starts when the broadband connection has been activated or when installation has been completed. We will use reasonable efforts to meet any proposed installation or activation date, but dates may change because of weather, access, network availability, third-party contractors, infrastructure delays or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

You must provide accurate order information and reasonable access to the premises so that installation, maintenance or recovery of equipment can be carried out safely.

3. Contract term and cancellation

Any minimum contract period will be stated in your order, service agreement or package terms. After any minimum term has ended, the service may continue on the basis set out in your order or applicable service terms until cancelled.

If you cancel during a minimum contract period, early termination charges may apply where permitted by law and where these were disclosed as part of your agreement. You remain responsible for charges properly incurred up to the date the service ends and for returning any equipment that must be returned.

Nothing in these terms removes any cancellation, cooling-off or other consumer rights that you have under Irish or EU law.

4. Charges and payment

You agree to pay the prices and charges confirmed when you order, together with any other agreed installation, equipment, call-out or service charges. Bills may be provided electronically.

You must keep your payment details up to date and pay amounts due on time. If payment is overdue, we may contact you to arrange payment and, where permitted by your agreement and applicable law, may restrict or suspend service until the account is brought up to date.

Any advertised commitment such as "no price increase" applies only where it is expressly included with the package you ordered and subject to any stated conditions, taxes or regulatory charges.

5. Broadband speeds and performance

Broadband performance can be affected by factors outside Wiznet's direct control, including the technology serving your premises, Wi-Fi conditions, customer equipment, network congestion, faults, third-party networks, the destination service being accessed and the number of connected devices.

Where speed information is provided, it describes the relevant service tier or expected capability and does not mean that every device will continuously achieve the maximum stated speed. We do not guarantee the performance of third-party websites, applications or networks beyond our control.

6. Maintenance, faults and support

We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot promise that the service will always be uninterrupted or fault free. Planned or emergency maintenance may occasionally require service interruption.

If you experience a fault, please contact Wiznet Support through the support channels published on our website. Our support is provided by Sligo-based staff, with 24/7 contact options available. We may ask you to carry out reasonable diagnostic steps so we can identify the cause of a problem.

7. Equipment

Routers, wireless receivers, network terminals or other equipment supplied for the service may either become your property or remain the property of Wiznet or a network provider, depending on the equipment and your service agreement. We will tell you where equipment must be returned.

You must take reasonable care of equipment supplied on loan, keep it connected and used in accordance with instructions, and must not deliberately damage, alter, relocate or interfere with network equipment. You may be charged the reasonable replacement cost of equipment that is not returned when required or is damaged through misuse.

8. Acceptable use

You must not use the service in a way that is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, threatening, defamatory, infringes another person's rights, interferes with the network or attempts to gain unauthorised access to systems or services.

You must not use the service to distribute malware, conduct attacks, send bulk unsolicited messages or deliberately create abnormal traffic that threatens network integrity. We may take reasonable steps to protect our network and other customers where misuse presents a security or operational risk.

Residential services are intended for normal household use and must not be resold without our written agreement.

9. Security and customer responsibilities

You are responsible for securing your own devices, accounts, Wi-Fi passwords and systems. You should tell us promptly if you believe service credentials, equipment or your account have been compromised.

Internet access is not a life-safety service. You should not rely solely on broadband, Wi-Fi calling, VoIP, alarms, medical monitoring or similar internet-dependent systems for emergency or safety-critical communications without an appropriate backup.

10. IPTV and third-party content

Where a package includes IPTV channels or other third-party content, channel availability, programming, apps and content may change because of licensing, provider or technical changes. Unless we expressly guarantee specific content in writing, inclusion of a particular channel or programme is not permanent.

Third-party services may also have their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Moving premises

If you move, contact us as early as possible. We will check whether we can provide service at your new address. A move may require a new installation, equipment or service arrangement and may be subject to availability and any applicable charges disclosed to you before work proceeds.

12. Suspension or termination by Wiznet

We may suspend or end a service where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated non-payment, unlawful or abusive use, a material breach of your agreement, a threat to network security or safety, or because we are no longer technically or legally able to provide the service. Where practicable and appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue first.

13. Liability

We will provide our services with reasonable skill and care. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your statutory consumer rights.

To the extent permitted by law, Wiznet is not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by third-party services, customer equipment, customer misuse or failures on networks we do not control. Business customers should ensure they have appropriate resilience or backup connectivity where internet access is critical to their operations.

14. Personal information

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law. We may use information reasonably required to provide service, bill you, respond to support requests, prevent fraud, maintain network security and comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these general terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, law, regulation or business operations. Where a change materially affects an existing customer's contractual rights, we will provide any notice required by applicable law or the customer's agreement.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory legal protections and rights that apply to you.
